Abelinis Boss Assumes Rotary Club Presidency
The Chief Executive Officer of Abelinis Limited and former publicity secretary of EXMAN, Abiodun Oshinibosi has been sworn in as the 14th president of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden, District 9110, Nigeria, at an installation ceremony, induction of board of directors and fund raising for service projects held over the weekend at the Excellence hotel, Ogba, Lagos.
In his acceptance speech, Oshinibosi thanked all Rotarians for the trust, support and confidence bestowed on him which served in his emergence as the 14th president of the club and the emergence of the entire board to serve and drive the club to desired heights.
While appreciating his predecessors for taking the club to the level it is today, he however added, “the standards are high, expectations enormous and I see and feel the heavy pressure of responsibility to sustain the accomplishments. I am however confident in our ability to meet and exceed expectations.”
These he intends to achieve by aligning with RI President’s three areas of priorities: support and strengthen the club, focus and improve humanitarian services and enhance Rotary’s image and awareness in the community.
“In this vein, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to providing the leadership that will motivate us as a team to continually set the pace and make a difference as we put smiles on faces of the under privileged in our communities,” he concluded.
The keynote address for the day was delivered by the Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of Ovation Group, Bashorun Dele Momodu. In his address, Momodu encouraged all to imbibe the Rotarian values of selflessly giving to those who are in need, citing examples of people whom he had helped in the past that did quite well in their various spheres. He used the opportunity to thank owners of the Excellence hotel for accommodating him for years free of charge when he had accommodation challenges.
He also encouraged all not to despair if they are not yet where they intended to be citing an example of himself whom he recalled, wanted to be a teacher who gets married to a teacher. However, after failing his exams two consecutive times and being rejected by the Guardian, he ended up at Concord newspapers where his life took a turn for the better.
The event had in attendance the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan; ably represented, Chief Transformation Officer, MTN, Mr. Bayo Adekambi, Keskese boss, Tade Adekunle among other dignitaries.
