Chuka Obi Joins Insight Publicis As Creative Director
Former DDB Lagos’ Executive Creative Director, Chuka Obi has joined Insight Publicis as its Creative Director.
Obi takes over from Sinmisola Hughes-Obisesan who is now the Creative Director at Leo Burnett Africa.
In his new position, the creative director is expected to help the creative powerhouse boost its profile in the Nigeria market with rich creative content delivery for its clients and their brands.
Before he joined DDB Lagos, Obi was at Literamed Publications as an Illustrator/ Creative between 2005 to 2007. He joined SO &U Saatchi & Saatchi as Copy Writer/Art Director between 2008 to 2010.
During his stay at the agency, he worked on award-winning work on Guinness, Unity Bank, Harp, Access Bank and other brands.
In 2009, he won the most outstanding staff of the year and at the 2010 edition of LAIF Awards, and propelled his agency to win 9 awards.
In 2010, he moved to DDB Lagos as Creativity Manager where he wrote the famous MTN Saka “I Don Port” copy. He also worked on others works and award-winning ad campaigns for MTN Nigeria, Unilever, Fidelity Bank, FCMB, P&G, McVitie’s, Wrigleys and others.
In 2013, he was elevated to the position of Associate Creativity Director at DDB Lagos. In 2015, he was appointed Creative Director and in 2016 he was promoted again as Executive Creative Director of the agency.
Chuka Obi studied Bachelor of Science (BSc) at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) Awka, Anambra State and Miami Ad School Diploma where he had an Advanced Diploma in Copywriting & Integrated Concepting.
