Starcom Media Perspectives Appoints Jude Odia Managing Director
Effective April 2, 2019, Jude Odia assumes the role of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria’s leading media agency, Starcom Media Perspectives.
Prior to his appointment, Jude had been instrumental to so many milestone achievements in the company, which include leading the pitches for FC WAMCO and MTN Nigeria in 2011 when he newly joined. He rose to become the Media Director in charge of all agency technical operations in 2014, a position in which he performed creditably well by significantly growing business revenue year on year and also championing thought leadership with the launch of the first edition of the Nigerian Media Advertising Guide in 2016.
An astute IMC strategist with 360-degree work experience across client and agency divides, exposed to best-in-class strategy and operational models from 2 leading global media networks. Jude Odia has championed & co-ordinated winning integrated marketing campaigns for multinational clients working with regional account management teams across West and Central Africa. He led the Starcom team that locally operationalized SMG connection planning framework HX, the first successful attempt in Sub Saharan Africa. This effort and many others helped in positioning Starcom Nigeria as the Go-To operational hub for the Network across SSA. He has a first degree in English, an alumnus of the Lagos Business School and MBA with Bradford University in the UK.
In 2017, he was elevated to the role of Chief Operating Officer and has since driven strategic initiatives to reposition the agency from a media agency to a solutions company by diversifying into specialist competence areas. This has led to development of bespoke services to the numerous existing and new clients of Starcom Media Perspectives. Under Jude’s leadership, the company has become renowned as a leading player in the Digital and Tech space of media communication via transformation initiatives embarked upon. This is evident in the growing number of Digital only clients the agency works for.
With great passion for industry upliftment, Jude has facilitated in various professional fora locally and also extensive global engagements across the world. He was one of the Nigerian top IMC professionals invited to the 2018 EMEA Emerging Executive summit organised by the tech giant Google at their global HQ in California, USA in September, 2018. He believes in brain-power and knowledge sharing as critical to achieving a better world.
Further to his contribution to knowledge base and thought leadership, he led the agency to recently launch their flagship Nigerian Media Advertising Guide (NMAG) as a Mobile App (first of its kind in West Africa). This industry report essentially serves to provide actionable business insights to marketing professionals and other industry stakeholders in a reader friendly format.
Furthermore, the Business Consulting arm of the agency is gaining traction among industry client with successes being recorded in its operations.
