All Seasons Zenith Organizes Advertising Career Day For Young Graduates
In the spirit of giving back, All Seasons Zenith, one of the leading media advertising agencies in Nigeria recently held the maiden edition of it’s ASZ Academy career day.
The event which was held at the premises of All Seasons Zenith was organized to prepare future leaders in advertising.
Opening the academy, Uwem Afanide, Chief Operating Officer for All Seasons Zenith, said “This initiative is to assist fresh graduates in Nigeria, interested in advertising, understand the pillars that make advertising an industry.”
Group Managing Director of Insight Redefini, Dr. Ken Onyeali Ikpe approved of the career initiative, stating that the importance of equipping youths of today with the necessary knowledge missing from the academic curriculum is very paramount in Nigeria.
The 15 participants in this maiden edition were selected from a write-up challenge where proposals were submitted on how ‘Cyberbullying’, ‘Internet Fraud’, ‘Drug Abuse’ could be tackled among youths in Nigeria. The proposal had to reveal the suggested approach to communicating the solution on digital platforms, supported by any of the traditional media (TV, Radio, Print and OOH).
The one day event was richly packed especially due to the variety of seasoned facilitators who shared from their experiences, answered questions and in all inspired the future leaders of the advertising industry.
Some of the topics touched on include: The Impact of Targeting on Strategy; Business Strategy and its impact on Advertising; Impact & Role of Advertising on Brand Building; Media Negotiation And Buying; Understanding The Role Of Strategic Communications In Advertising; Understanding The Role Of Activation In Advertising; and Breaking Silos In Advertising.
The efforts and dedication put into the event was not lost on the participants. In Elizabeth Odusanya’s words, “I am really grateful for the opportunity to learn so much about how advertising works. Seeing the big picture of the role advertising plays for brands has given me the much needed perspective into the roles I can align myself with careerwise.”
All Seasons Zenith plans to hold two of these career day events each year. The next edition is yet to be determined but promises to explore deeper aspects of advertising as well as some of the topics recommended by the participants of this edition.
