Jaiye Opayemi Emerges PRCAN president

Managing Director and Chief Strategist of Chain Reactions Nigeria, Israel Jaiye Opayemi has been elected president of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria at the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) which took place on Friday, September 6 in Lagos.

A senior PR practitioner, Chuddy Oduenyi served as chairman of the electoral umpire that produced the new leaders.  

Opayemi, who succeeded John Ehiguese, promised to further reposition the association while John Ehiguese, who served for two-term as President, had earlier spoken about his confidence in the new exco.

Other officers elected unopposed include Adedayo Ojo, CEO, Caritas (Vice President), Bolaji Abimbola, CEO, Indigo Communications as Publicity Secretary and Raheem Olabode of CMC Connect as Treasurer, among others.

Jaiye Opayemi, who won the ‘PR Practitioner of the Year’ at the 2018 edition of Lagos PR Industry Gala Awards (LaPRIGA) is one of the best brains in the PR industry. Chain Reaction is one of the country’s leading public relations and integrated communications consulting firms. Also, Opayemi’s Chain Reactions Nigeria was named the ‘Best Reputation Management Consulting Firm in West Africa’ at the 7th edition of Nigeria Brand Awards 2017 organised by International Brand Award Nominees in the keenly contested Gold Category award that featured two leading Ghanaian agencies: Insel Communications Ltd and GMA Communications Inc.

He and the new members of the executive committee of the association will be bringing their wealth of experience to bear in piloting the affairs of the association for the next couples of years.

The Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria is a trade sectoral group for the public relations industry in Nigeria.
