Big & Bold Communications Limited, a 360 degree Lagos-based integrated and interactive marketing communication outfit, recently celebrated its first anniversary at its state-of-the-art office on Allen Avenue in Ikeja, the state capital.

Speaking at the unveiling, ‘Jide Adeyemi, Chief Brand Strategist, Big and Bold Limited, said: “It’s been an exciting and eventful first year for us. We’ve achieved more than we set out to achieve from the start. Having worked in a number of top-tier agencies and some multinationals, we set very high standards for ourselves believing that if we don’t hit them, we’ll at least get very close. Surprisingly, we have outperformed our expectations.”

small: we’re social

Adeyemi said, “such positive results in our first year motivate us to pursue our vision with renewed vigour. We want to be the go-to agency for young Nigerians who are not scared to challenge the status quo. We are positioned to assist them to establish innovative solutions to their everyday marketing challenges. We want to help our clients create an emotional bond between their brands and the consumer. Of course, our fun-filled, relaxed work environment and culture of not operating a strict 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. will support their aspirations.”

The company made a bold statement of intent to the marketing industry last year when it clinched the Alcatel Onetouch (now Alcatel) marketing account and helped to re-launch the brand into the Nigerian markets. Since then, the agency has managed advertising, go-to-market strategy, retail campaign, activations, public relations, digital marketing and training for clients like Alcatel, d.Light, General Electric, Boff and Company Insurance Brokers, Lenovo, Huawei, Glitz and Fero.

Ranti Agunloye, Executive Director, Big & Bold, said, “We came into the industry at a very challenging period for businesses in Nigeria. The economic downturn and the resultant foreign exchange challenges meant that we had to do a lot of jobs with little or no profit as a slight change government policy can disrupt planning and strategic direction for our clients and us. Our impressive result, in spite of the harsh conditions, encourages us to stay on the path we’ve chosen as our means of contributing to the Nigerian economy. Our vision despite the situations remains “to be a quintessential creative house creating an emotional bond between our partner brands and the consumer.”

Big & Bold plans to go pan-Africa in the nearest future with Big and Bold Africa, a group that will include Orange Spot Media (Out-of-home agency), Brand Engineers (Brand Strategy Consultants) Field Force Academy Limited (Field Force Management), among others, with operations in different parts of Africa.
