Epica Confirms PageOne As Nigeria’s Jury For 2017 Awards
Epica Awards a creative prize judged by journalists has approved the appointment of PageOne.ng as one of its media juries for the 2017 edition of the awards.
The 2017 Epica Awards slated for the 16th of November, 2017 will start with a conference about creativity followed by the prize giving ceremony and after party. The exclusive event attracts both the press and advertising professionals in a celebration of creativity and innovation.
Mark Tungate – Best-selling author and Epica Awards editorial director, said: “Epica allows journalists who are experts in their field to reward exceptional creativity. Beyond the fact that many journalists on our jury write about creative industries – from advertising to design, PR and digital – those of us who work as reporters or editors have a good reason to be thankful for advertising: it funds the media we work for and allows us to have an independent voice – hopefully beyond government influence. Despite certain views to the contrary, journalists continue to play a vital role in society. They shed light on the hidden or little known. They are relentlessly curious. And they are great storytellers. For all these reasons, journalists are perfectly placed to assess the year’s creative offerings. They have an informed opinion – and more importantly, they allow people who have something to say to reach a wider public.”
Samuel Odusami, Founder, PageOne.ng said: “It is a humbling opportunity to among a distinguished community of journalists and the best brains in digital publishing as a jury for 2017 Epica Awards. Our appointment and confirmation give credence to our commitment to participating in though-leadership and developmental efforts for Africa’s and global creative industry.”
Amos Joseph, Co-Founder, PageOne.ng, said: “It’s a great honour and privilege to be included among the jury for the awards. We look forward to the events in Paris as we wish all the participating creative companies and talents all the best.”
