Heineken, Moflix, Others Dazzle At ADVAN 2017 Awards

Nigeria Breweries’ Heineken, Malta Guinness Herb Lite and Hayat Kimya’s Moflix were among brands that dazzled on Saturday at the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) Awards for Marketing Excellence 2017 West Africa held at the Muson Centre in Lagos.
Brands submitted entries in ten award categories that were judged by a panel chaired by Mr. Lanre Adisa, MD/CEO Noah’s Ark Communications. Other members of the panel include Kehinde Salami, EXMAN President and CEO, Ideas House; Elo Iyayi, MD, Sharemind; Olaseni Fawehinmi, Corporate Services Manager, UAC Nigeria; Seni Ogunkoya, Head Marketing Communications, 9Mobile Nigeria; Dr. Ikechukwu Obiaya, Dean, School of Media and Communications, PAU and Abigail Ogwezzy, Mass Comm. Unilag.
Heineken clinched the most coveted award for the night by emerging first in the ‘Brand of the Year’ category beating Dufil Prima’s Indomie and Hayat Kimya’s Molfix to second and third places respectively.
This category is also confers the award of the ‘Brand Manager of the Year’ award to the manager of the winning brand. Consequently, Obabiyi Fagade, Brand Manager of the Heineken brand was honoured by the association. The Heineken brand also emerged winner in the ‘Campaign of the Year’ category beating Airtel Smart Speedo and Unilever Ghana’s Pepsodent to second and third place respectively.
Newcomer to the Nigerian market, Moflix, having spent barely two years took the most shine at the awards as it emerged one of the most awarded brands of the evening. It emerged first in the ‘Experiential Marketing’ category while Copa Coca-Cola and Three Crowns Milk placed second and third respectively.
The Molfix brand also emerged third in the ‘Consumer Promotion’ category where Three Crowns and Indomie were first and second respectively. It was also shortlisted in the ‘Brand of the Year’ category where it came third behind Power Oil-second and Heineken.
Other winners of the evening are MTN Lumos Mobile Electric, Power Oil, 33 Export Lager, Hayat’s Familia, Three Crowns Milk, MTN Foundation, Coca Cola Coke Studio and Airtel Unlimited.
