Media Seal Sent Forth Former Managing Director, HRM Ayodele Kupoluyi in Grand Style

“In the past, people were born royal. Nowadays, royalty comes from what you do.”The popular quote of the Italian Designer, Gianni Versace, best describe the contribution of Former Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer, Media Seal (formerly Starcom Media), His Royal Majesty (HRM) Ayodele Kupoluyi to the growth of the company and media industry in Nigeria.
HRM Kupoluyi is the paramount ruler of Temidire Ekiti, Ekiti State. In a royal reception in his honour, Staffs of Media Seal, Integrated marketing Communication (IMC) stakeholders, guests, family and friends trouped out to celebrate one of their own as the company sent him forth at the Sojourner by Genesis Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
HRM Kupoluyi is a seasoned marketing and advertising professional with a distinguished and outstanding career in media having spent almost fifteen years of meritorious service at the company. He became king after the death of Oba Olabode Falade and received his Staff of Office on October 21, 2015.
Expressing delight for the grand reception in his honour, he said “I feel excited when people appreciate the investment you have put in their lives or industry, am very excited”.

Industry Stakeholders Speak
Ayo Oluwatosin, Group Managing Director, Group Managing Director, Rosabel Group, the parent company of Media Seal disclosed that “Kabiyesi (HRM Kupoluyi) has been of tremendous value to Media Seal. He has been an added value to our organization and what we have done for him today is just a token. We cannot celebrate him enough. In several dimensions, he has been a great asset to us and that is why we are saying thank you to him”.
Speaking on some of the legacies he left behind, Oluwatosin disclosed that “One of the things he left as a legacy is for the organization to be very thorough in the ways we do things. Number two, Ayo (HRM Kupoluyi) is a process person and a lot of people who have trained under him, have lent to be procedural.” he pointed.
Bunmi Oke, CEO/Lead Consultant, Ladybird on her own part explained that “I have the privilege of knowing him from LTC Advertising and that is where we have come a long way for over 25 years now, what I will say is that, I had always known that he had potentials. We started when I was Head of Client Service at LTC Advertising in those days, am proud he has proven himself to be a great person that has evolved over the years and have come out to do great things. I will say congratulation and am very proud to be associated with him and to know that we have added value to each other.
“Definitely, he brought energy into the media space when he became the MD of Starcom Media (now Media Seal). He was able to bring a new life, professionalism as well as business acumen into the industry, an industry seen in the past as just Placement of ad.”
Explaining the contribution of HRM Kupoluyi to marketing communications industry, Kelechi Nwosu, Managing Director at TBWA/Concept Limited and former colleague at LTC said “Having served the advertising and the media community, from Account Management to Media, HRM Kupoluyi is a full rounded marketing communication person” adding that “Speaking on behalf of those who worked with you at the LTC, you were quite a treasure to us.”
His Career Path
HRM Kupoluyi’s career started in JWT/LTC Advertising as a Client Service Executive in 1995 and later became Ag. Group Head-Media in 2003. He joined Starcom Media Services as a Media Strategist in September 2003.
He was promoted to the post of General Manager in February 2008 and subsequently MD/CEO in June 2013 in recognition of his technical competence and leadership skills until he retired in December 2017 to start his own consultancy firm called Ashmaukups Limited.
HRM Kupoluyi is a member of industry bodies such as: Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN), and International Professional association –Pan African Media Research Organisation (PAMRO).
He is an alumnus of the Pan African University, Lagos Business School (AMP 19). He also attended the globally rated Cranfield School of Management in UK on Developing Leadership Competencies. In addition, he attended several professional and management courses both locally and internationally.
He has over two decades experience in the industry having worked with who is who in field with various Multinational brands. Cadbury, Coca-Cola, Unilever, Chartered Bank, Diageo Guinness, Vmobile (Airtel), Nestle, Samsung, Emirate Airlines, P&G, Chi Limited, Heinz, Nigerian Breweries, and Etisalat (9Mobile).
His Future Plans
Speaking on his future plans, HRM Kupoluyi explained that his consultancy firm ‘Ashmaukups Limited’ which is not a full service agency will enable him attend promptly to his royal duties at Ekiti while at the same time he will be doing what he loves. “Am not leaving the industry, am only retiring from Media Seal.”
According to him, Ashmaukups which is an advertising agency is into “Concept origination, Consumer insight, Account Management and Media”.
