Google today launched its Partners programme ‘Google Partner’ into the Nigerian market to further enable digital agencies and brands taking advantage of its online marketing tools to connect with their users.

The Google Partners programme aims at improving the relationship between Google and advertising agencies, digital marketing professionals, and other online consultants who manage Google Ads accounts.

Through the Partners programme, Google ensures that businesses get the help they need when it comes to things like search, mobile, display, video, and shopping advertising.

Digital marketing agencies with partner certifications will be able to display it on their websites, showing that they have passed Google Ads exams and are up to date with the latest product knowledge.

“The introduction of Google Partners is just the latest example of our commitment to bringing the next wave of Nigerian businesses online,” says Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor, Google Country Director in Nigeria.

“Agencies are key partners for working with SMBs,” she adds. “The Google Partners programme helps us bring businesses online by strengthening the digital ecosystem.”

There are also significant advantages for digital marketing professionals in the Partners programme. Not only can they accelerate customer acquisition (through being able to introduce themselves to the market as a Google Partner), they can also continually improve their product knowledge, and earn rewards.

“Google sees Nigeria as a strong market for growth,” says Ehimuan-Chiazor. “We look forward to seeing how digital marketers use the Partners programme to fuel the next phase of that growth.”

Speaking on how the initiative will help the country. She said “Nigeria has an incredibly large online population, with more than 91-million of the country’s inhabitants accessing the internet monthly.

“It’s a number that’s grown consistently over the years and which will continue to grow in the future.

“That online population represents a massive opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to grow and contribute positively to the Nigerian economy.

“In order to reach this audience, these SMBs need to have access to marketing professionals with the highest possible levels of knowledge.

“Google Partners ensures that they can get this access and that the country’s advertising agencies are empowered to provide them
