Busola Olujemisin Quits Brooks and Blake, Joins Tek Experts

Busola Olujemisin is now the Marketing Manager of Tek Experts, a company that provides business and IT support solutions, after quitting the services of Brooks and Blake, a public relations firm.

At Brooks and Blake, she was the Senior Consultant before leaving the firm. In her new role, she is expected to develop the regional marketing plan and budget and work with internal and external stakeholders to manage the development and delivery of regional marketing activity; plan, manage and promote a range of marketing programmes, including events, advertising, interviews; and support the global business by creating and managing local PR activity.

Also, she is expected to manage and develop social media channels and internal communications for Nigeria and Bulgaria operation sites; monitor and report on effectiveness and ROI of campaigns embarked on and maintain range of high quality marketing materials to support online/offline activities of the company.

Busola is a young and enthusiastic PR professional with more than seven years’ experience in PR and marketing communications. She has developed excellent skills in a range of areas including press release generation, media relations, PR planning and execution, event management, client servicing, crisis management and developing social media tactics.

She started her career as the Assistant Communications Officer of Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development where she supported the ministry with PR/Marketing activities to deliver set communication objectives. She also implemented systems and procedures to support the administrative needs of the ministry among other before joining C&F Porter Novelli.      

At C&F Porter Novelli, she rose from Management Trainee to Account Executive and later to Senior Account Executive where she planned and executed clients’ activities for brands such as Coca-Cola Nigeria, Etisalat Nigeria, Procter and Gamble, Unilever, PwC, Pfizer, among others. Thereafter, she moved to Brooks and Blake.

At Brooks and Blake, she was also elevated several times. She started as Associate Consultant and a year later, she was elevated to Consultant position and later to Senior Consultant position. Some of her roles were to develop marketing communication plans including strategy, goals, budget and tactics; develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media and coordinate all public relations activities.

According to her, she learnt a lot working at Brooks and Blake “Working in B+B has been a huge learning process. Since joining the firm I’ve learnt much more about account management and the holy grail of the agency’s attention to detail and continuous improvement.”

Aside her work experiences, she also has volunteering experiences which include: Working with Stroke Action Nigeria as Communications Officer; Brand Communication Consultant at 234give.com; and Secretary, Lagos PR Week Committee at Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

Interestingly, her education background include: Obafemi Awolowo University, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), English Language and Literature; and CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate in Professional Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Integrated Communications.
