The organizers of the Sustainability, Enterprise and Responsibility Awards otherwise known as The SERAS CSR Awards has announced the commencement of submission of entries for the 2019 edition.

The annual SERAS CSR Awards, which marks the 13th edition of the award, has grown to become the prime corporate awards promoting and measuring corporate social responsibility and sustainability in Africa. The theme of this year’s event is “Driving Sustainability through Inclusive growth: Strategic Partnerships as Key to Unlocking opportunities”

The entry submission starts 26th April and closes 26th June 2019 while the awards holds at Oriental Hotel, Lagos on 2nd November, 2019. Interestingly, for the first time a Nomination party would be organized on 6th September.

The organisers of the award disclosed to journalists and stakeholders at its first workshop held in Lagos recently, that its website has been revamped to make registration seamless. Remarkably,  this year, the organizers is also partnering with Forbes and The Global 100 to make the edition bigger, as Nigerian brands would have the opportunity to be listed on the two organisations’ rating index as among the world’s most sustainable corporations.

Key industry stakeholders rate SERAS CSR Awards as the industry gold standard recognition for impactful investment in CSR and sustainability. The organisers state that its mission still remains to lead the drive towards actualization of the sustainable development goals in Africa by enabling a platform that promotes, measures and harmonizes the contributions of private sector, governments/public sector and non-governmental organizations to attain set targets.

This edition of the awards seeks to uncover the brands that have walked their talks in the real sense and unravel the links between investments/interventions and the actual impacts of these in communities where organisations do business and the general society at large.

The award is open to large, medium and small scale, not- for- profit organisations, as well as public sector organisations. The honours would be up for grab in line with the Sustainable Development Goals as set by the United Nations.

The SERAS-CSR Africa Awards is an annual project which aims to promote as well as raise awareness about the roles organisations play with emphasis on their responsibility towards shareholders and the social development of Africa. The SERAs is Nigeria and Africa’s first and premier Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards, aims to substantiate the case that corporations who are socially responsible stand to gain huge benefits in regards to the triple bottom line- economic, social and environmental capital.
