Coscharis To Assemble Renault Cars In Nigeria

Coscharis Group has signed a partnership deal with French carmaker Renault to assemble and distribute Renault vehicles in Nigeria. Coscharis Motors Plc, one of the subsidiaries of the Coscharis Group spearheaded the initiative.

The signing of the partnership was done at Coscharis head office at Awoyaya, Lagos yesterday during the official launch of the Coscharis-Renault Assembly Plant where stakeholders in the automobile sector were in attendance.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Coscharis Group, Dr  Cosmas Maduka said the new partnership is part of its expansion plans and would help reshape the automobile industry in the country.

Maduka said:this partnership is to showcase another initiative from our great organisation through one of our subsidiaries, Coscharis Motors, to further create value as a key player in the automobile industry in Nigeria; we are glad to celebrate the confidence the renowned brand, Renault reposed in us to represent them in Nigeria. This milestone marks another step in the evolution of our organisation towards remaining timeless in its relevance.”

According to Maduka, this partnership is to further delight the esteemed loyal customers and prospects alike, especially towards providing them a bouquet of more options and value for money. In his words, ‘’We are committed to broadening our dealership scope when such opportunity as this happens, since it is a strategic opportunity to deliver capable, refined and cost-effective vehicle models to our ever loyal customers.”

In addition, he urged government, private sectors and individuals to shun the patronage of fairly used cars and partonise new Renault cars that would be assembled in its Assembling plant due to its quality and affordability.

Fabrice Cambolive, Senior Vice-President and Chairman of the Africa, Middle East and India Pacific region of Renault, said he is delighted that the Renault brand was been re-introduced into the Nigerian market and also excited that Coscharis was picked as a partner.

“The Coscharis Group is a recognised player in car assembly and distribution.  Thanks to their expertise and products adapted to the local needs, we will be able to answer immediately to the customers’ demand in Nigeria.”

In addition, he stated that Nigeria is a strategic market in Africa with over 200 million people, the reason it is expanding its footprint in the country to capture more automobile lovers with quality auto brands.

Dignitaries from all walks of life, including leadership from the three tiers of the government (both at Federal and State levels) and agencies, members of the diplomatic corps, banks representatives,  industry stakeholders and enthusiasts as well as the media were presence and later the guests had a feel of the Renault brand during a test driving section.

The guest emphasized that the new assembly plant will create jobs for Nigerians, bring about the development of the automobile industry, boost economic growth and return the country to the era when cars were being assembled in the country.

Coscharis is active in several sectors of the Nigerian economy, including autos, information technologies, logistics, agriculture, food, real-estate and health.

Groupe Renault is leading the African continent with an 18% market share. In 2018, Groupe Renault sold more than 216, 000 vehicles in Africa. The most important countries in sales volume are currently Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, Egypt. The group’s objective is to maintain its leadership within these countries and respond to the demand of the new emerging middle class of the countries like Nigeria. fffffff
