Tunde Dosekun Takes Over From Ikechi Odigbo As New MD Of DDB Lagos
Former Business Development Director of DDB Lagos, Tunde Dosekun has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the one of Nigeria’s leading advertising agency. He takes over from Ikechi Odigbo who has taken a new role as Executive Vice Chairman/GMD at Casers Group (DDB Lagos is a member of the group).
The agency on its social media handles announced the new appointment “We are pleased to announce Mr. Tunde Dosekun as the new Managing Director (Designate) of DDB Lagos.
“Since joining the agency 13 years ago Tunde has been an integral part of our growth story having served with distinction in various capacities in account planning, account management and general management. In his previous capacity as Business Development Director, Tunde helped drive agency growth through an impressive record of account pitch wins; and in addition, provided strong account management leadership of the Non-MTN clients portfolio,” The statement reads.
Prior to joining the agency, he worked at TBWA\CONCEPT as Account Planner where his contributions was also remarkable.
DDB Lagos is one of most awarded agencies in Nigeria at the annual LAIF award ceremony since its inception 13 years ago. DDB Lagos is also the first Nigerian creative agency to receive international recognition when it won an EPICA award for its ‘Speechless’ campaign developed for an advocacy project for the girl-child in Northern, GirlHub, sponsored by Nike Foundation in partnership with USAID/DFID in 2012. Since then, DDB Lagos has also received several other international awards including the acclaimed ‘I Don Port’ campaign for MTN. The agency was awarded the Silver Loeries award for integrated campaign and Silver in Africa Cristal awards in the category ‘Best use of Branded Content.’
In 2014 DDB Lagos got an Emerald in Africa Cristal award for Mouka Foam campaign ‘Restful Night, Active Day,’ and in 2013, a Bronze in EPICA awards for the same campaign under the category ‘Best use of Branded Content.’ The agency has and is still being recognised locally as the most awarded Nigerian creative agency since the inception of LAIF awards. DDB Lagos was consistently highly identified in the Young Lions Competition between 2008 and 2011. In 2010, the agency was honoured for the TV campaign of the year, Overall campaign of the year and Marketing Leadership in Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) awards for Marketing Excellence.
In 2018 at LAIF award, the agency emerged the overall winner by clinching the prestigious Grand Prix award and amassing six gold, four silver and nine gold medals to emerge Nigeria’s most creative agency for this year. Its first gold came from the Outdoor/Poster category under the Corporate Image segment, for the MTN #ManInThe commercial for the MTN brand. The same creative won another gold for the agency before eventually winning the Grand Prix of the evening.
