PalmPay Appoints Damilola Owolabi As Senior Manager, Marketing & Partnerships

Damilola Owolabi has joined the services of PalmPay as the company’s Senior Manager, sMarketing & Partnerships.

It is noteworthy that PalmPay, a mobile payments platform, which was recently launched is owned by TECNO parent company, Transsion Holdings.

Damilola will be bringing his experience to bear to help grow the brand in the Nigerian market. He is an eclectic integrated marketing, communications, brand management and business growth professional, with experience that covers brand management, new media (digital & social), revenue/growth expansion, market penetration, consumer behavior analysis, media content strategy & management, communication channel strategy & management, data interpretation and optimal customer management/satisfaction. He is also known as a strong project leader, growth hacker, team leader and creative marketer.

The graduate of University of Lagos is a member of Advertising Practitioner Council of Nigeria (APCON) and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM – UK) and was awarded the Young Brand Manager of the year at the 2016 Marketing Edge brand and excellence award.

He worked at Saatchi & Saatchi as Account Executive where he was part of the team that launched and managed the VISAFONE brand in Nigeria through various ground-breaking activities.

Also, he was the Marketing Manager at Devyani International (Nigeria) Ltd, owners of KFC. According to him, he was instrumental to the launch of 17 KFC stores in 4 different cities in Nigeria and today, the stores are still in operation which means they are profitable in all metrics. He also launched the KFC delivery in Nigeria and among others.

After leaving Devyani International, he joined Deekay Group as Group Head, Brands & Corporate Communications where he was responsible for all brand & marketing management and corporate communications/relations activities of all brands under the Group.

Thereafter, he moved to Capricorn Digital Limited as Head of Marketing where he was responsible for the overall communications, brand, marketing management and growth strategy of Baxi Box for long- and short-term growth goals on all products and services, which ultimately improved financial inclusion through agent spread and ease of collection for businesses and ease of payment for end consumers.

Later, he moved to Lumos Global as Manager – Marketing Communications & Stakeholder Engagement before joining PalmPay recently.
