APCON Partners ACSPN On Virtual Conference In September


The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), has joined the collaborating institutions for the 1st Virtual and 7th Annual Conference of the Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), holding from September 2-3, 2020.

 The theme of the conference is: “Communicating Identities and Nationhood: The Media, the Government and the People”. ACSPN has a history of partnership with APCON, including the 1st National Conference on Advertising in 2019, hosted by APCON. The regulatory agency for advertising is now a financial partner.

Existing collaborating organisations for the conference are UNESCO, Information for All Programme (IFAP), and World Commission on the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST).

There would be six panels at the two-day meeting, including the Special Panel on “The Media, Artificial Intelligence, Nation States, and the Future”, and the Female Panel on “The Woman’s Identity, the Media, and Nationhood”. The four other panels are on: Flattening the Misinformation Curve in the Digital Age, Brave New World: Reshaping Identities and Citizenship, Redefining Fundamental Rights & Freedom of Expression: COVID-19 Fallouts, Reimagining the future: Health, Wellbeing and People’s Engagement.

Academic or professional papers remain invited under these panel themes, with August 20, 2020 as deadline for final paper submission.
