Gbemi Aleke Now Head, Account Planning & Strategy, Ogilvy Nigeria

Fast rising professional, Gbemi Aleke has been appointed the new Head, Account Planning & Strategy for Ogilvy Nigeria.
Before her appointment, Gbemi was the Group Head Brand and Consumer Planning and Strategy for TBWA/Concept. At the agency, she was responsible for leading a six-man team in uncovering consumer behaviour insights to create relevant brand experiences and communication. She was also responsible for managing Strategy and Planning on all the major Accounts in the agency across financial, FMCG, government, telecoms and SME businesses as well as driving brainstorming sessions and Disruption Workshops.
Gbemi is a Creative Strategist who started out wearing a lawyer’s wig but switched early in her legal career to wearing creative hats. She has spent the past decade creating disruptive strategies for different local and International brands as MTN, Ford Foundation, Stanbic IBTC Group, GLO, Multi Choice (SA), Ruby & Desy, UAC, British Council, SFH, Tastic and other thriving brands.
Some of her achievements as a lead strategist include the Award Winning PROUDLY MADE IN ABA Campaign sponsored the by Ford Foundation in 2017 & 2018. The campaign bagged an International Grand Prix Award at the Africannes Conference in 2017 and another award for the Hackathon Challenge in 2018. These among other campaigns have gotten mention as African success stories and have also been featured in creative idea reviews.
Gbemi studied law at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU where she graduated in 2008 and also attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos between 2008 and 2009.
