Exclusive: Lipton Ice Tea Nigeria Wins Global Peace One Day Challenge

Lipton Ice Tea Nigeria has emerged winner of the ‘Make Tea Time, Peace Time’ challenge, organized in commemoration of the International Day of Peace (Peace One Day).

According to information made available to Brand Communicator, Lipton Ice Tea Nigeria submitted a video entry for the challenge, organized as part of the Peace One Day global campaign. The brand’s entry is among 130 other entries from over 100 countries across the world where it was adjudged first overall.

The announcement was made by Hanneke Faber, President, Global Foods & Refreshment Division, Unilever who announced the Top 3, the Lipton Team in Greece who sparked a positive movement for peace, the Lipton Market Research & Insights Team who made 500 new connections with their internal activation and the winner, the Lipton Ice Tea Nigeria team who created a video to show that Peace really is a language that is universally spoken and really thrives when people connect.

The video showed the diversity of Nigeria’s culture while celebrating unity through Peace in different Nigerian languages. Brand Influencers such as Omashola, Kim Oprah and Hawa Magaji alongside staff of Seven-up Bottling Company (makers of Lipton Ice Tea) and Partner agency staff were the cast of the 80second award winning video.

The International Day of Peace (“Peace One Day”) is observed around the world each year on 21 September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a culture of Peace.
