Few days after the unveiling of Nigerian singer, Joeboy as its brand ambassador (young segment), smartphone giant, Samsung has unveiled Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show host, Ebuka Ob- Uchendu as its flagship (High -End) brand ambassador to help foster a positive image for the brand in the Nigerian market.
“Samsung Nigeria Family officially welcomes Ebuka Obi-Uchendu @ebuka … The multi award-winning media personality, TV host, fashion icon, lawyer, and now Samsung Brand Ambassador!,” the brand wrote on its social media handle.
Meanwhile, Ebuka on his social media handle shared a photo of himself branded with Samsung’s logo, Ebuka wrote;“B R A N D A M B A S S A D O R Make way for a global icon and true Nigerian leader!!!
“Hello @Samsung!!! Looking forward to an awesome journey with my @Samsung_Nigeria family. Let’s make magic together”
Asides from hosting the reality show, Big Brother Naija, Ebuka is known for hosting the long running Rubbin’ Minds talk show on Channels TV as well as co-hosting The Spot and Men’s Corner on Ebonylife Television.
He has received several award nominations and won the award for Outstanding TV Presenter of the Year at the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards for his work on Rubbin’ Minds.
He was nominated in the On-Air Personality category of The Future Awards for 2007 and 2008 consecutively. As well as Outstanding TV Presenter of the Year (Male) at the Nigerian Broadcaster’s Merit Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015 which he won.
In 2011, he was selected as a Global Shaper – an exclusive group of young emerging leaders across the world – with the World Economic Forum.
In 2013, he was honored by the Federal Government as one of the Best 100 Young Nigerians in one of the events to mark Nigeria’s 100th anniversary as a union.
Recall at the unveiling of Joeboy recently as Brand Ambassador, Samsung also unveiled three (3) versions of its A-series device – namely the Galaxy A12, A02s and A02 into the Nigerian market.
Speaking at the launch, Samsung Electronic Nigeria’s Managing Director, Caden Yu, described the new series A as a spectacular model that mixed innovation and high technology to give the best smartphone to customers. He added that the devices are unique in 3 areas; memory, camera and battery. Caden explained that the A-series has high memory size at an affordable price, unmatched camera quality and long-lasting battery.
Excited about his deal with the smartphone brand, Joeboy tweeted “Excited to announce that I am now part of the @samsungmobileng family! #Celebration time.
