Bolaji Alausa Named Jury Member For Cannes Lions 2021

Bolaji Alausa, the Executive Creative Director of Noah’s Ark, one of Nigeria’s leading advertising agencies, has been shortlisted as the 2021 Cannes Lions jury member.

Bolaji will join other advertising and creative professionals across the globe to judge works in the Brand Experience & Activation category at the prestigious awards as the only Nigerian on the list.

Other jury members include: Vicki Maguire, Chief Creative Officer, Havas, United Kingdom as Jury President; Alejandro Di Trolio, Executive Creative Director, Chell, Spain; Alexander Kalchev, Chief Creative Officer, DDB Paris, France; and Anna Qvennerstedt, Global Chairman, Copywriter Forsman & Bodentors, GLOBAL among others as members.

Commenting on the new jury members shortlisted across categories and when winners of the award will be announced, the organisers said, “The Lion-winning work will be announced and awarded during Cannes Lions Live, a fully digital experience, running from 21-25 June 2021, that’s included for free as part of the new LIONS Membership, launching in May.

“Jury members hail from across the world and represent the global industry’s leading talent from the broadest spectrum of disciplines. The juries also comprise 51% of female jurors, up from 48% in 2019.”

Bolaji is partner and ECD at Noah’s Ark where he spearheads work across the group’s diverse communication outfits.

He began his career at Rosabel Leo Burnett in 2006, and then moved to DDB Lagos for a five-year stint. He joined Noah’s Ark in 2011.

His team has won several local and international awards by harnessing the power of storytelling across various brands.

He has been on the jury of New York Advertising Festival, Adweek’s Out of Home Impact Award, Loeries in Durban and Ad Stars in Busan, where he gave a talk on how culture influences creativity in Africa.

In 2018, Adweek listed him on their annual Creative 100, a list of the most influential creative people in the world.

Bolaji is an alumnus of the Berlin School of Creative Leadership where he received an EMBA in Creative Leadership in 2017.
