Carol Ofem Takes Over From Nnenna Onyewuchi As Director Of Strategy At YBR

Former Group Head, Account Planning and Strategy for SO&U, Carol Ofem has joined Lagos-based creative powerhouse, Yellow Brick Road (YBR) as Director of Strategy-a position that was hitherto occupied by marketing communications amazon, Nnenna Onyewuchi.

Onyewuchi on the other hand will be moving up to higher responsibilities still within YBR agency. Taking to her LinkedIn page to announce Ofem’s appointment, Onyewuchi who is also the Co-Founder of the agency wrote: “Thrilled to welcome Carol Ofem to the strategy sisterhood as our new Director of Strategy.

“Carol is smart, driven and crazy enough to fit right in (she arrived on day 1 with t-shirts for the team y’all!!). LOL. Carol will be taking over my day-to-day operational duties so I can focus more on thought leadership, business development and innovation. Exciting things ahead!! Watch this space,” she wrote.

Also writing g on her new appointment via Linkedin, an excited Ofem noted, “Day 1 as Director of Strategy… it feels great to be in a strategy sisterhood, it feels even better to have been picked by Nnenna. This is to new beginnings.”

Through her career which spans over thirteen years, Carol has proved to be a top-performing, result-driven digital marketing and communications professional credited with combining sales, marketing and business development expertise to deliver substantial revenue growth in highly competitive business markets.

With strong expertise in brand building, strategic planning, public relations, digital marketing and project management, she has had an outstanding record in developing marketing and sales campaigns and company growth strategies that achieve business-critical objectives and exceeded set financial targets, among other achievements.

She began her career with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in 2007 as a reporter but vied into the IMC industry shortly after when she joined Hebron Consulting as a Management Trainee in 2008. From there, she will go on to become the Marketing Manager for Stream Magazine-a university publication and Public Relations Manager for ‘Bald Man In A Van’ which is a national motivational tour of 10 cities in the United (UK) to inspire people to be the best they can be. Her stint in Public Relations in the UK continued when she joined Robert Hall Limited as a Public Relations Executive and as an Account Executive Trainee with Euro RSCG Lancaster, all in 2010.

She was also an Executive Officer Strategy & Planning Development for Caritas; Senior Account Executive for Hotsauce Limited; Lead Strategist for Imaginarium Marketing Communications Limited; Lead, Brands and Marketing for Ruff ‘n’ Tumble and Consumer Sales & Marketing Manager for CARS45, before joining SO&U in 2019.

Carol Ofem is an alumna of Covenant University, Nigeria where she bagged a degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies as well as an alumna of the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School in the UK where she bagged a second degree in International Public Relations.
