MIPAN 2021 Patron’s Day Promotes “One Media”

The 2021 edition of the Media Independence Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN)’s Patron’s Day which was held recently, focused on the theme of “One Media.”

The event had in attendance some of the Patrons of MIPAN including Dr. Biodun Sobanjo (Chairman of Tryoka Holdings), Alhaji Bello Kankarofi (formal Registrar of APCON), Mr Ayo Oluwatosin (Founding MD/CEO of Starcom Media West Africa), Chief Mrs. Iquo Ukoh (former Executive Director Marketing Service’s at Nestle Foods PLC). Other distinguished guests included Mr. Tunji Adeyinka, current President EXMAN, Dr. Ken Onyali-Ikpe, immediate past President of MIPAN, HRH Kabiyesi Oba Ayo Kupoluyi, MIPAN EXCO members and Heads of Agencies.

The MIPAN President, Femi Adelusi in his welcome address spoke about the timeliness of the event and the need for stronger cooperation and collaboration among media agencies and indeed between all sectoral bodies in the marketing communications industry in Nigeria.

He referenced the new AISOP guideline released by APCON and the need for all sectoral bodies to work together for its successful implementation.  He encouraged continued engagement with those who have some concerns with certain areas of the guideline with the goal of building a stronger sustainable and progressive business environment and a healthy marketing communications industry.

Different media agencies came together to have fun, putting all their everyday competitive business setups aside, and unwinding as one advertising industry. Squid games, basketball, ludo, chess, table tennis, basketball, draught, Scrabble, bouncing castle games for kids were part of the games – with many winners emerging and prizes given out by sponsors.

In closing, the MIPAN EXCO thanked all the Patrons, Family members of member-agencies , sponsors and all guests for their participation.
