AAAN Release List of Jurors Ahead LAIF 2021 Awards
The Advertising Agencies Association of Nigeria, AAAN has released the list of jurors for the 2021 Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) Awards coming up in a few weeks.
Here are men and women saddled with the responsibility of judging awards submitted for honours by agencies, arranged in no particular order.
Omowunmi Owodunni (Chairperson, APCON Advertising Standards Panel)
Mowunmi Owodunni is an experienced Marcomms practitioner with skill sets ranging from creative ideation /copywriting, communication strategy development, brand building and Agency leadership.
She has worked in some of Nigeria’s leading Ad Agencies, with significant footprints over the years. Having been one of the very few female Creative Directors of her time, she led her Agency team to win a good number of LAIF and other awards, with contributions that eventually earned her the position of Managing Director, STB-McCann up to June, 2018.
Over her extensive career, Mowunmi has lectured/facilitated at several tertiary institutions, Advertising Academies, AAAN, APCON and IAA Conferences/Seminars and Workshops and continues to avail the upcoming generation of her rich knowledge and experience of the Advertising profession.
Not a greenhorn to LAIF, Mowunmi has at various points in her career served on the LAIF Board and as a LAIF Awards Juror.
She is currently into Marketing Communication consultancy services and creative content development; is an Adjunct Lecturer with the Pan-Atlantic University School of Media and Communication; and is also the Chairperson, APCON Advertising Standards Panel.
Femi Odugbemi is an accomplished filmmaker and content producer whose career has covered stints in broadcasting, advertising and filmmaking.
An Oscar juror and voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the United States, Femi has served as President of the Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN), co-founded the IREP International Documentary Film Festival Lagos, and is a 4-time Head Judge of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards(AMVCA).
He has also served as a 3-time Head Judge of the Uganda Film Festival (2012-2014), Juror of the British Council “Shakespeare lives’ project (2016), Juror of the Emmy Awards in New York (2012 &
Michael Gbolade is a passionate disciple of ideation. As a principle, he believes everyday is a new day to laugh at yourself, then unlearn and relearn. Armed with an Advanced Concepting Certification from Miami Ad School, and strings of awards in his kitty, Mike has been around a handful of very creative agencies, and has worked with a bunch of razor-sharp minds and the smartest of the lot, both locally and internationally. A ‘mindustry’ player with an eye for product development, Adesola Kosoko is a multifaceted marketing communications practitioner with years of experience impacting business development for brands and serving as Creative Director and Consultant to several agencies.
A global citizen, professional and creative business leader with 15+ years of experience, skilled in relationship-building, creativity and team concept development. Seeking to use proven skills to create meaning experiences for ambitious businesses.
Having served as creative lead in some of the top 5 marketing & digital communications agencies in Nigeria, Nduka successfully championed some award winning and high performing marketing and sales campaigns that grew their respective markets.
Nduka is passionate about design, purpose and people to drive sustainable performance.
Maurice has 16 years’ experience in marketing communications covering Experiential Marketing agencies such as FCB Lagos and FKG2 as well as Advertising agencies like JWT Lagos, LeoBurnette Lagos, DDB Lagos and finally @noahsarkcomm where he is currently the creative director.
Maurice is a graduate of Sociology at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, with certificates in Marketing communication and Consumer Behaviour from Edinburgh Business School Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom.
Maurice is also an associate member of Chartered Institute of Marketing with a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Marketing.
Throughout the span of his career, Maurice has had the privilege of charting the course for some of Nigeria and Africa’s elite brands, elevating their market value. Notable mentions are Knorr, Lipton, Durex, South African Airways, Cadbury, MTN, Quickteller, Nike Foundation, Maltina, Nokia, Peak Milk, Airtel and more.
Maurice’s list of accomplishments has won him accolades covering LAIF awards, Pitchers awards, African Cristal Awards, Epica awards and The Loeries Awards. Maurice was named Marketing Edge Outstanding Creative personality of the year 2019.
Bolanle started off her career as an agency producer within the production team at X3M Ideas. She has over a decade’s experience producing film, tv spots and radio for over local and international clients in every major business sector.
She is currently Head, Production at @upintheskyng
Mike is the Creative Director of @x3mideas Nigeria, and has been in the industry for 30+ years. Just over 10 years ago he was ranked number 22 Creative Director in the Asia Pacific region and took his agency to number 16. He was born and educated in the UK and has worked in the UK, Australia, Taiwan and Africa, as well as creating work for global audiences.
