One of the the last 10 contestants in the ongoing 7th edition of the Nigerian Idol, Gerald, has been voted out of the musical reality show.

Gerald failed to make it to the top nine in the live show that took place last Sunday.

He left the show after going through an audition process and two weeks of the live show performance.

The live show started with electrifying performances from the Top 10 with a group performance of Cynthia Erivo’s ‘Stand Up’.

Towards the end of the show, Banty and Gerald were announced as the two with the least votes as they went head to head for the final spot.

However, Banty’s name was called as the final contestant to make up the Top nine. This meant Gerald did not get the number of votes needed for him to stay on the show.

With Gerald, Joel and Precious out of the musical show, nine contestants – Abigail, Jordan, Itohan, Banty, David Operah, Zadok, Faith, Progress, and Debby, battle for the grand prize of N100 million.
