Quickteller Barz & Notes Unveils Top 6 Finalists
Following the review of hundreds of entries from talents contending for the star prize in Quickteller Barz and Notes music talent show, Quickteller, the leading consumer digital payments platform, powered by Interswitch, has announced the selection of the top six participants at a press briefing in Lagos.
Quickteller’s Group Marketing and Corporate Communications, Brand Manager, Priscilla Iyari announced Okechukwu Chiamaka Lovette, Ann Nankling Damar, Martins Asogwa, Emmanuel Elijah, Prince Macaulay-Smith, and Bobby Phillip Eze as selected participants.
Iyari said the exercise was stiffly contested as there were over 200 entries from young and creative songwriters across Nigeria, then they were shortlisted to 20, and then to the top and final six.
The Quicktellers Barz and Notes contestants who have now successfully scaled through the adjudication process were judged based on qualities such the originality, vocals, writing skills, creativity, flexibility, willingness to evolve, and the ability to leverage value.
Members of the panel that selected the top 6 finalists include celebrity singer and songwriter, Omawumi Megbele and Celebrity producer, Gospel Obi (Gospel On DeBeatz).
Iyari also revealed that the lucky Talents would now proceed to the production camp where their music career will be shaped by seasoned players in the music business. These players include celebrity DJ Kaywise, as well as popular music producers such as Speroach Beatz, Yung Willis, Rexxie pondabeat, Gospelonde Beatz, and P Prime.
Iyari also stated that to guide these artists, useful insights into the music business would be delivered by established Producers, On-Air-Personalities, DJs, as well as other celebrity Music Artistes, adding that Talents will also be recipients of lessons in career sustenance, and how best to create value out of their nascent individual brands.
Speaking on the idea, the Group Head, Brands & Communications, Group Marketing, and Corporate Communications, Interswitch, Tomijogun Ogunlesi, noted that the Quickteller Barz and Notes show was carved out of a digital payment platform’s connection to the Nigerian creative space.
He said, “We are thrilled to have made this show a reality. It was conceived from our deep-rooted love for Nigeria’s creative scene, which has informed our decision to seek avenues to provide the needed support, ensuring that these talents get a platform to showcase themselves to the world”.
Each participant will have their original music produced and promoted on their behalf by Quickteller, and ultimately get a boost to give them the visibility and leverage required to make them international sensations.
