Netflix Partners Microsoft On New Ad-Supported Subscription Plan


In line with what the brand announced about six weeks ago, Netflix is set to introduce new pocket-friendly subscription offerings that would be supported by advertisement. The streaming platform is announcing that it would be partnering with Microsoft as its global tech agent and sales partner to get this new subscription package across to consumers.

This new plan will allow consumers to have more options to access Netflix’s award-winning content.

However, all ads served on Netflix will be exclusively available through the Microsoft platform as marketers looking to Microsoft for their advertising needs will also have access to the Netflix audience and premium connected TV inventory.

According to the COO of Netflix, Greg Peter, “In April we announced that we will introduce a new lower-priced ad-supported subscription plan for consumers, in addition to our existing ads-free basic, standard, and premium plans. We are pleased to announce that we have selected Microsoft as our global advertising technology and sales partner,”

He further stated that Microsoft has demonstrated its ability to support all advertising needs as the company collaborates to build a new ad-supported offering. Microsoft provides our members with the flexibility to innovate over time in technology and sales, as well as strong privacy protections.

“It’s very early days and we have much to work through. But our long-term goal is clear: More choice for consumers and a premium, better-than-linear TV brand experience for advertisers. We’re excited to work with Microsoft as we bring this new service to life,” he added.
