AB InBev Grows Q2 Revenue By 11.3 Per Cent

Belgian multinational drink and brewing company, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has reported organic revenue growth of 11.3 per cent to $14.79 billion in the second quarter of 2022.

The revenue saw a growth of 11.3 per cent up from $13.54 billion in the same period last year.

The Belgium-based brewer reported 7.2 percent organic growth in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation, EBITDA, to $5.1 billion in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, the company increased the combined revenues of its global brands – Budweiser, Stella Artois, and Corona – outside of their respective home markets by 9.7 percent.

The brewing behemoth saw its own beer volumes rise by 2.7 percent, while total volumes rose by 3.4 percent.

AB InBev reported revenue growth in markets such as the United States, Europe, and South Africa, with Brazil seeing a 26.8 percent increase in sales in Q2.

According to the company, the Chinese market is still being impacted by Covid-19 restrictions, which affected its key regions and sales channels, resulting in a 5.1 per cent decrease in total revenue.

The operating environment, on the other hand, gradually improved throughout the quarter, with the brewer experiencing high-single-digit volume growth in June.

“Our business delivered sustained profitable growth,” said AB InBev CEO Michael Doukeris.

“Our volume increased by 3.4 percent, our top line increased by 11.3 percent, and our EBITDA increased by 7.2 percent. Our relentless strategy execution, brand strength, and accelerated digital transformation enabled us to meet the moment in an ongoing dynamic operating environment.”
