ARCON Unveils Plans For Second Edition Of National Advertising Conference

The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, (ARCON) has unveiled plans for the second edition of its National Advertising Conference (NAC) which would commence from November 29th to December 1st at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

This was made known by the Chairman of the Planning Committee and President of the Experiential Marketing Association of Nigeria, EXMAN, Mr. Tunji Adeyinka, during a press briefing held on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022, at the L’eola Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

Adeyinka said the three-day event themed “The Marketing Communications: New Trends, Challenges, and Prospects” will bring together all critical stakeholders, practitioners, and businesses in the advertising ecosystem.

Adeyinka explained that the event was first launched in Abuja in 2019 where it witnessed a good participation. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was no subsequent edition but now; ARCON has brought all the sectoral groups together to have the next edition.

“The conference has been designed in a way to bring together the three pillars of the industry; the advertisers’ pillar, the marketing agency pillar, and the media pillar.”

Also speaking at the conference, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Director-General, ARCON, said that the conference would be a platform for stakeholders to chart a new course for the industry.

According to the organisers, companies that comply with the guidelines and regulations of the advertising code of practice will be given special recognition and award as the event will be an Advertising Standard Panel Award.

However, participants are required to pay N95,000 as fees, early birds will have a 20,000 discount. Students are to pay N50,000 while early birds who register two weeks before the event will be required to pay N40,000.

Among industry stakeholders and leaders at the press briefing were Mr. Steve Babaeko, President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, (AAAN); Chief Emmanuel Ajufo, President of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN); Mr. Femi Adelusi, President of Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria and Kenny Ogungbe, Representative of the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria, (BON).
