MultiChoice Nigeria has announced a modified version of the Big Brother reality show tagged Big Brother Naija + SA, that will debut in 2023 for its customers on DStv, GOtv, and Showmax.

The organisers announced that the modified show will see Nigerians and South Africans going through different audition processes, and staying together in an isolated house to compete for the grand prize and other sponsored prizes.

This new plan was announced by the Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, at a media showcase event organised by MultiChoice Nigeria in Lagos last Thursday.

He added that the special Big Brother edition would be even more intense with housemates from Nigeria and South Africa.

Ugbe described it as a special edition that is like a combination of Afrobeats (Nigeria) and Amapiano (South Africa).

“The next Big Brother edition will have housemates from the two giants of Africa, Nigeria, and South Africa, together in one house. This is designed to be a unifying experience of culture, personalities, and entertainment, highlighting what we both have in common. The prizes promise to be as massive as the entire show itself – both in cash and other sponsored prizes.”

He, however, did not state where the season will be taking place as he said that more details would be communicated in due course.

The announcement comes barely three weeks to the grand finale of the show’s seventh season tagged ‘Level Up’.

With 13 housemates currently pushing for this year’s N100 million grand prize, and three house guests, the show has entertained fans with unexpected twists and turns.
