Coca-Cola Elevates Yusuf Murtala To Marketing Director
Seasoned marketing and commercial professional, Yusuf Murtala has been elevated to the role of the Marketing Director for Coca-Cola Nigeria after spending close to five years at the company.
His new role becomes effective from November 2022.
Yusuf was the Senior Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola Nigeria before his new role. As the Senior Marketing Manager, he co-led the development of Schweppes three-year marketing acceleration plan for Nigeria, collaborated with the system marketing teams and inputs from key stakeholders to identify issues on key brands and how to fix them and also led the multifunctional team to develop the 2022 Annual Business Plans for all brands in Nigeria franchise from the 3-year strategic long-range plan for all brands, amongst a host of others.
He had also served the company as its Creative and Content Marketing Manager, West Africa Business Unit, and the Senior Brand Manager.
Prior to joining Coca-Cola, he was the category Marketing Manager Drinks (Lucozade & Ribena) & Data Analytics Lead, Nigeria for Suntory Holdings Limited, where he grew Lucozade by +5ppts market share from 45% to 50% market share over a 12-month period and also grew Ribena market share by +3ppts from 11% to 14% in a competitive juice category.
Other places he had worked include; GSK plc, formerly GlaxoSmithKline plc as its Group Product Manager Oral HealthCare and Data Analytics Lead, Nigeria, Heineken Nigeria as a Brand Manager, and Procter & Gamble as Brand Operations Integration Manager for Oral Care, Personal Health Care & Male Grooming.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he studied Demography and Social Statistics.
