Tony Kan Resigns From Glo

Ace novelist cum journalist, Tony Kan has announced his resignation from the giant telecommunications company, Glo, after spending just nine months as head of the Public Relations department.

Kan reportedly quit Glo to finish a new novel and explore other opportunities as his resignation takes effect from November 14, 2022.

Speaking on his resignation in a statement, he expressed gratitude for the time spent at Glo and acknowledged the firm’s impact on his career.

“Working at Glo was an invaluable learning experience. I worked with a crop of talented and well-experienced colleagues and a chairman, who is generous to a fault and a guru in every sense of the word.

“I will look back with fondness at the work done, awards won and connections made in the short time I was at Glo.”

Over the years, Kan has had an extensive and multi-disciplinary public relations and communications career in areas such as banking and telecoms, oil and gas, as well as pharmaceuticals.

As a Nigerian prolific writer and biographer, he has had great journalistic achievements which include being a former editor of Hints magazine at 26, co-founding Radi8 Limited, a public relations agency in 2010, thisislagos.ng in 2017, and thelagosreview.ng in 2019.

He also co-founded the Media Training Room, a training and capacity-building venture, in 2018, alongside sabinews.com, an online publishing platform in 2014, which he later sold in 2018 in a landmark deal.

Kan has published over 20 books as a writer, one of which is ‘Nights of the Creaking Bed’ a recommended text in several Nigerian universities.
