BON Announces May 17 For Nigeria Broadcasting Awards

The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), organisers of the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards have announced May 17, 2023, as a new date for the maiden edition of the annual Award of Excellence for outstanding Nigerian broadcasters.
The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards is a platform created to recognise, celebrate and reward professional excellence in the country’s broadcasting industry.
The announcement was made through an invitation letter that was signed by the executive secretary of the body, Yemisi Bamgbose to prospective attendees of the award ceremony. The letter read that the primary objective is the elevation of domestic broadcasting standards by motivating professionals to be better at the duties of informing, educating, and entertaining the public.
The Nigeria broadcasting awards have been endorsed by over 300 BON member stations, legendary broadcasters, and broadcast industry stakeholders.
Bamgbose added that the over 600 entries that were gotten are currently receiving the attention of a 7-man judges’ committee selected from notable industry players and organisations also, the judges and the public determine the eventual winners through a 60:40 vote ratio.
Also, to be recognised are those that have made landmark contributions to broadcasting in Nigeria.
“The award ceremony, conceived as a glamour befitting the industry, will hold on May 17, 2023, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Time: 6:30 to 9:00 pm,” Bamgbose said.
