NYF Advertising Awards Introduces Creative Commerce Category, Manuel Bordé Named Jury President


New York Festivals Advertising Awards is excited to unveil a new Creative Commerce Category, recognizing the influential role of Commerce in driving creative business transformation.

Leading this innovative category as Jury President is Manuel Bordé, Global CCO of VMLY&R Commerce, renowned for spearheading the Creative Commerce revolution in the industry. Joining him are a group of esteemed global industry influencers who are breaking new ground in commerce.

The Creative Commerce Category focuses on commerce-led ideas that go beyond e-commerce, aiming to create a seamless commerce experience that bridges the gap between shoppers and physical retail spaces. This category celebrates the transformation of marketing into hybrid experiences that leverage both digital and physical channels to engage and facilitate transactions.

Manuel Bordé, Global CCO, expresses his enthusiasm, saying, “The potential of commerce creativity is being realized by brands and retailers, opening up an exciting new space for marketing and creative talent to innovate. Scott Rose, President of New York Festivals Advertising Awards, welcomes the diverse group of award-winning and internationally recognized executives to the Executive Jury. Guided by Manuel’s extensive global and agency experience, the jury is eager to celebrate a new form of creativity that delivers memorable consumer experiences while driving brand conversion and sales impact.

The 2023 Executive Jury President, Manuel Bordé, serves as the Global Chief Creative Officer at VMLY&R Commerce. Joining him on the Creative Commerce Executive Jury are Ali Cheikhali, Creative Strategy Lead at Google, MENA; Taryn Beck, Customer Marketing Director at General Mills, Walmart, USA; Marina Cuesta, GCD at The Marketing Arm, USA; Pete Gosselin, Executive Creative Director – North America at WONGDOODY, USA; Maria Lujan, Executive Creative Director at Havas, Argentina; and Taylor Siegal, Head of Social Commerce at MRM, USA. Additional members include Andrea Siqueira, Executive Creative Director at Energy BBDO, Chicago; Ricardo Uribe, Creative Director at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, USA; and Rebecca Zdarsky, Executive Creative Director at Shoptology, USA.

The winners of the New York Festivals Advertising Awards will be announced on July 19th, with judging for the Creative Commerce category taking place virtually on July 11th.

This esteemed competition receives entries from over 60 countries worldwide and is evaluated by an international jury comprising more than 400 members of NYF’s Executive Jury and Grand Jury. These jury panels collectively vote to select the year’s most exceptional work.

Entries for each competition are evaluated globally by industry peers in their respective fields.
