2023 NIPR Conference, AGM Begins Tomorrow, As Members Vie For Elective Positions


The much-anticipated conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will commence from tomorrow Wednesday 23rd and run through to Friday 25th August 2023.

The event which is themed ‘Leadership, Public Relations & Value Creation’ is scheduled to hold at the NAF Suites, Abuja.

Inimfon Etuk, PRO, NIPR FCT Chapter through a statement noted, “We are posture to join our National President/Chairman of Governing Council to welcome our erudite Fellows of the institute, Members of Governing Council, Senior Professional Colleagues, State Chapter, and all Public Relations Professionals from across the country to Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.”

“For us at NIPR FCT Chapter, our proximity to the seat of government in our beloved country, Nigeria remains an undisputed advantage in furthering our capacity to provide unmatched professional support to the growth aspirations/agenda of our great institute and membership”

Speaking on the election, he said “The decision of who becomes the next president of NIPR is one that will require in-depth thoughtful, unbiased and pragmatic analysis and understanding of our most critical needs as Public Relations professionals.”

Two frontrunners, Nkechi Alli-Balogun, Principal Consultant/CEO of NECCI Ltd, and Dr. Ike Neliaku, Executive Vice Chairman, Right-angle PR, have thrown their hats into the ring for the prestigious office of the institute’s president, alongside other contestants.

Members will be vying for positions to pilot the Institue’s affairs and occupy the following offices: the President, Vice President and a 22-member Governing Council, comprising 17 Elected and 5 Federal Government Nominated Members.

Industry experts believe that the conference and AGM will provide the much-needed opportunity for the repositioning of Public Relations practice in Nigeria and shore up the waning equity of the professional institute.
