Edo NIPR Elects New Executive Council Members

The Edo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), has inaugurated new executive council members to coordinate the affairs of the association for the next two years.

The election took place during the Annual General Meeting/conference of the chapter held recently in Benin City with the theme “Leading with Purpose: Inspiring Change and Innovation in Public Relations”.

According to a statement released by the institute, the newly elected executive members inaugurated include James-Wisdom Abhulimen as the chairman; Okon Eno Eyo as the vice chairman; Courage Eboigbe as the Secretary; Temi Esonamunjor as the public relations executive; Dr. Ngozi Okeibunor as the financial secretary, Ude Chukwuulotam as the treasurer and Dr. Josephine Adeyeye as the auditor.

Earlier, the Keynote speaker, Dr. Daniel Ekhereafo, stated that achieving success in Public Relations required inspirational and innovative leadership, capable of driving positive changes, fostering meaningful connections, and steering organisations toward goal attainment.


He enjoined the new leadership to leverage technology, data, and social responsibility initiatives to enhance the reputation of the Institute in the state, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and drive transformative changes in the PR landscape.

“As the world continues to evolve, the influence of inspirational and innovative leaders will remain central to the success of public relations in creating positive and lasting impacts”, he added.

In his acceptance speech, Abhulimen acknowledged the overwhelming support of members that paved the way for his victory at the polls and promised to work with the new executive to consolidate the achievements of past leaders of the chapter and propel the institute to a greater height in the state.

He extended a hand of fellowship to his co-contestant and pledged to revamp the chapter.

He promised to make the chapter a force to be reckoned with through strategic communication, networking, and collaboration with critical stakeholders.
