WhatsApp Launches Video Screen Sharing Feature
WhatsApp has announced the launch of a new feature that allows users to share their screens during video calls.
This new development was made known by Meta’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday.
Screen sharing was a major feature of video conferencing apps like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and more.
Zuckerberg said, “We are adding the ability to share your screen during a video call on WhatsApp.”
Describing the feature, Meta stated, the feature will allow users to share documents, browse photos, and more while making a video call.
“Whether sharing documents for work, browsing photos with family, planning a vacation or shopping online with friends, or just helping grandparents with tech support — screen sharing lets you share a live view of your screen during the call.
“You can initiate screen sharing by clicking on the ‘Share’ Icon and choosing between sharing a specific application or sharing the entire screen.”
The firm also noted that users can now make video calls in landscape mode, a shift away from the portrait mode video calls were restricted to.
