Brand Communicator, a leading corporate, CSR, brand, and marketing publication on the continent is set to take a nostalgic journey through the annals of Nigerian advertising history by featuring iconic Television commercials (TVCs) from top creative agencies in Nigeria across its social media platforms.

According to the publication, this move is in celebration of the fifty years of the Advertising Agencies Association of Nigeria (AAAN).  It added that the airing of these TVCs, which kicks off today, also comes ahead of the AAAN Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled to take place from September 21st to 23rd, 2023, at the prestigious International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Publisher of Brand Communicator, Joshua Ajayi, elaborated on the significance of this initiative. He emphasized that it serves as a fitting tribute to the Advertising Agencies Association of Nigeria, which is a pioneer in the Nigerian market and has paved the way for other sectoral groups.

According to him, “The AAAN is the pioneer among sectoral groups in our market, having paved the way for others. Marking fifty years of its existence is a remarkable milestone, and one way we can celebrate these agencies is by spotlighting some of their iconic works spanning their operational history.

“Also, as part of our commitment to ‘Linking the Future,’ we believe that by reintroducing these classic TVCs, Brand Communicator aims to bridge the generational gap, enabling viewers to relive the advertisements they cherished in the past while also introducing younger audiences to the advertising gems of yesteryears, viz a vis those of today,” he said.

The 50th Anniversary AGM/Congress of AAAN, themed “50 years young, Ready for more,” promises to be a grand affair. The event will have the Honorable Minister for Information and National Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Idris, as the Special Guest of Honor, alongside other distinguished government dignitaries.

Over the years, AAAN has been unwavering in its commitment to promoting excellence and fostering collaboration within the advertising sector. The association kicked off its golden jubilee celebration with the unveiling of a commemorative logo in January.

President of the Association, Mr. Steve Babaeko, had earlier expressed his excitement about this year’s AGM, emphasizing its uniqueness as the 50th anniversary edition. He reflected on the association’s remarkable journey, replete with numerous achievements and milestones, including the creation of numerous iconic advertising campaigns over the years.
