Brandcom Awards, Nigeria’s most prestigious recognition platform in Integrated Marketing Communications is set to honour outstanding brands, organisations, and marketing communications professionals for the year, 2023.

The awards event scheduled to hold at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday, 4th of November 2023 is breaking new ground by extending its reach to include the vibrant Ghanaian market, in its commitment to expanding across West Africa and eventually the entire continent.

According to Joshua Ajayi, Convener of Brandcom Awards and publisher of Brand Communicator “it has been our culture each year to celebrate and showcase excellence at our awards night each year based on our mantra of Prestige, Integrity, and Credibility.

“In collaboration with our research partner agencies, we have compiled a list of nominations, which we presented to our distinguished panel of judges. This panel comprises professionals from various subsectors of the IMC industry and experts in the fields of marketing and communications. Our awardees are always painstakingly assessed by this panel who take decisions based on key touchpoints, across categories. That is why we recognize excellence, innovation, and engagement by brands in the period under review which is between October 2022 to October 2023.”

Explaining the motivation behind this initiative, Ajayi added, “When we launched Brandcom Awards four years ago, we identified a gap in the industry that needed to be filled. As publishers of Brand Communicator, we have a unique vantage point to impartially observe this industry and gain insights like no other.  Brands, individuals, and organizations invest substantial efforts year after year, and we believe it’s essential to applaud them, recognizing their tireless work and encouraging them to continue to strive for excellence in the industry.”

“Our expansion into Ghana this year marks the first step towards our goal of covering the IMC industry across the African continent, responding to calls from our stakeholders to replicate our success in Nigeria elsewhere in Africa. Ghana serves as a test run, and we are eager to explore other vibrant markets on the continent in the future,” he added.

Speaking on the “35 under 35″ category which recognizes the contributions of young and dynamic individuals within the IMC industry, Ajayi shared, “The integrated marketing communications industry is vast and continuously evolving, and it is driven by the relentless efforts of young and versatile professionals. These individuals often go unnoticed or underappreciated for their valuable contributions. It was for this reason that we introduced the ’35 under 35′ category, last year.

“So far, we are overwhelmed by the response. After reopening nominations for this category, we received over 23,000 nominations, highlighting the wealth of talent in the industry.”

Brandcom Awards is the celebration of the exploits and achievements of brands, agencies, and notable players that have gone the extra mile in making an impact in the industry. The award is also designed as the most credible and prestigious platform recognizing, rewarding and inspiring agencies, brands, and individuals in the marketing and communications industry in Nigeria.
