Strategy Bootcamp: Brands Join Forces To Redefine Strategic Landscape In Nigeria
Chain Reactions Africa, a public relations and integrated consulting firm, Old Lagos, a creative advertising agency, Chocolate City Music, Bean Creative Nigeria, an advertising agency, and Exposé Marketing Solutions Limited brands have joined forces to bring the 2023 Strategy Bootcamp for Beginners to reality.
The six-week strategy bootcamp aimed at redefining the strategic landscape in the marketing and communication industry was opened to strategy newbies, graduates training or those with no experience, junior strategists, those who would like to build a solid foundation in strategy, brand managers and business owners.
According to the organisers, the Strategy Bootcamp started on September 2nd and was facilitated by some seasoned Creatives in the marketing and communications industry during the weekends for six weeks which saw trainees undergo intensive strategy training which ended with real-world marketing problems to test their strategic prowess.
The students were judged by Femisire Ajayi, Associate Head of Strategy, Autori Ltd, Kolawole Yusuf Founder of Kola Kuddus, Omokehinde Thomas, Digital Marketing Lead, Seven-Up Bottling Company, and Adedeji Adeleke, Strategy & Planning at Akoa London during their brief presentations.
At the end of the presentations, Simi Giwa from Kola Kuddus emerged as the best strategist, according to a post via the Instagram page of the Organisers said, “We have wrapped up the Strategy Bootcamp for Beginners today. The brand spotlighted for the Graduation Pitch was Kola Kuddus and we are pleased to introduce you to the Most Outstanding Student of this program Simi Giwa”.
Speaking about the Bootcamp, Founder of Strategy Trybe, Sheriff Akinpelu, said: “This was organised because I observed that there was a missing link between the older and younger generation of Strategists/Account Planners in Nigeria & Africa has led to a rapid shortage of Seasoned Strategists and Account Planners in the industry”.
“We are currently losing the older generation of Strategists to Consultancy firms and some of them are setting up their consultancy service firms. More so, lots of them are close to their retirement age, if they are not retired already. Thus, Strategy Trybe was created to be the bridge between these two generations,” he added
Akinpelu further explained that the platform also intends to provide mentorship, and learning opportunities for members. He said, “I have noticed that a lot of Strategists and Account Planners are springing up without adequate support. The community will also serve as a mentoring hub for members”.
He expressed his appreciation to Chain Reactions Africa, Old Lagos, Chocolate City Music, Bean Creative, and Xpose Brands for joining forces to bring the 2023 Bootcamp to a reality.
He also commented on the illuminating pitches of the graduates “as fresh minds redefining the strategic landscape”.
