Stakeholders, Delegates Swoop Down On Abuja As Advertising Conference Begins Today

Industry stakeholders and delegates from across the country have converged in city capital, Abuja, ahead of the 2023 edition of the National Advertising Conference (NAC) that commences today.

The three-day conference which debuted in 2019 will see industry titans, stakeholders, experts and thought- leaders address intricate issues affecting the advertising landscape across diverse perspectives, all amid subtle undercurrents of tension within the industry.

The conference will kick off with a fireside chat featuring the trio of former Managing Director/CEO Guinness Nigeria, Mr Seni Adetu, now Founder/GCEO First Primus West Africa; Mr Lolu Akinwunmi, Group CEO, Prima Garnet and Iffy Onukwuba, the Managing Director of Nigeria Advertising Service (NAS).

Together, they will engage in an exchange, responding to a barrage of questions to be posed by the President of the Experiential Association of Nigeria (EXMAN), Mrs Tolulope Medebem. The fireside chat is expected to set the tone for the conference, offering valuable insights, industry perspectives, and strategic solutions.

Through the self-regulatory efforts of these sectoral associations and the statutory-regulatory interventions of ARCON, Advertising has earned a recognition and reputation as a leading profession in Nigeria. In line with the practice among other reputable professions, the professional conference for Advertising practitioners, appropriately named the National Advertising Conference was initiated and debuted in 2019.

In continuation of that tradition, the 2023 National Advertising Conference has been unveiled. With the theme: ‘Marketing Communications as an enabler of National Transformation’ the conference is scheduled to hold on December 6 to December 8, 2023, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Marketing Communications professionals and scholars from the various sectors and specializations of the marketing communications industry will converge to share ideas, knowledge and perspectives on the new trends and challenges that shape the profession and business of marketing communications across the world. They will also proffer solutions and point the way to a healthy growth of the industry to the benefit of all stakeholders.

Highlights of the conference are keynote and panel discussions on the current economic reality in Nigeria and imperatives of a reform; economic impact of advertising in the Nigerian economy – the multiplier; Brand Nigeria – Changing the narrative; understanding the AfCTA and the implications for the IMC industry; Nigerian content revolution – Amazon Prime, Netflix, Showmax.

There is also included in the conference package masterclasses on unlocking marketing communications for SMEs; creating a compelling proposition for states – attracting investment into advertising in states.

The conference will be rounded off with a gala night.

Dignitaries from government, public and private sector organisations, practitioners and clients from across Nigeria and parts of the world are expected to grace the conference as speakers, special guests and participants.

Because of the huge and diverse offerings of the conference, it promises to be the largest gathering of marketing communications and allied professionals in Africa.
