Akinmuyisitan, Rustagi, 22 Others Named Jurors For WARC Awards 2024

Fred Akinmuyisitan, Head of Portfolio Strategy, CMI and Marketing Capabilities, Nigerian Breweries Plc (Heineken Nigeria) and Deepankar Rustagi, CEO, OmniRetail Technology Limited, Nigeria as well as 22 other industry experts around the world have been named jurors for the WARC Awards Middle East & Africa 2024.

Commenting on the processes involved, John Bizzell, Awards Lead at WARC said, “To judge the very best strategic and effective marketing campaigns in the Middle East & Africa, we have convened a stellar group of extremely knowledgeable and highly respected professionals from across the region to bring expertise and cultural insight to the judging process.”

The WARC Awards Middle East & Africa jurors are 24 respected professionals and top leaders in renowned brands including Absa Bank, Google, Microsoft, Nigerian Breweries, Qatar Airways, Telkom and leading agencies from across the Middle East & Africa.

Fred who brings his knowledge and experience of the African market to his jury duty, is an experienced portfolio strategy and marketing professional. He is a member of the marketing leadership team at Heineken Nigeria and has led multiple portfolio and channel strategy projects within Heineken. He is also an award-winning account planner at various regional and global shows including Epica and the Loeries. 

Eight jury members would judge the entries for each of the three categories. Each category will have a chair jury.

The first category will be judging entries based on Brand Purpose, Business-to-Business, Cultural Impact, Customer Experience, Instant Impact and Long-term Growth.The second category of eight juries will be judging on Channel Integration, Channel Pioneer, Partnerships and sponsorships, Path to Purchase, and Use of Data categories while the third category, will be judging entries on Strategic Thinking.

The juries will award Gold, Silver and Bronze accolades across the 12 sub-categories. They will be guided by the frameworks of the WARC/LIONS Creative Effectiveness and B2B Effectiveness ladders, which provide a consistent and universal benchmark.

The jury chairs of all the regional awards – Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Latin America, and North America – will form a super jury to award the highly sought-after Grands Prix, the ultimate recognition of marketing success, selected from all the regional Golds.
The deadline for submission of entries is 6 February 2024. The Middle East & Africa and other regional winners will be announced on 20-25 May, while Global Grand Prix winners will be announced at the 2024 Cannes Lions Week.

The WARC Awards Middle East & Africa 2024 is in association with Lions, a leading International Festival of Creativity.

WARC Awards celebrates marketing with strategic brilliance and effective impact. This regional competition will be judged rigorously by top industry experts from leading agencies and renowned global and local brands.
