For any organisation to survive, grow and address the needs of its clients, especially in the Integrated Marketing Communications ( IMC) industry it must embrace innovation or die.

This was the assertion of Elizabeth Adesina, the Business Director of Ideas Origin Media (IOM), during an exclusive interview with Brand Communicator recently. She also x-rayed the goals and visions driving Ideas Origin Media as well as practices organisations can employ to improve friendships and relationships between clients and agencies in the industry.

Adesina said that IOM understands that innovation is the hallmark of creativity, and has over the years entrenched it as a culture in the company.

In her words, “We understand that we are in the era of ‘Innovate or die’ and with this in mind, fostering a culture of innovation isn’t just important; it’s critical for our survival, growth, and, most importantly, for addressing our client’s needs head[1]on. We can entrench this culture by embracing diversity and inclusion. By celebrating the unique perspectives and experiences of every team member, we not only encourage but empower them to contribute and share new ideas. It’s these diverse viewpoints that often lead to breakthrough innovations.

“ Our commitment to innovation is further reinforced by our weekly Kreative Sessions. During these sessions, team members take turns sharing their perspectives and ideas on new campaigns. This creative exercise not only fosters creativity but also gives birth to new innovative thinking. Lastly, the power of collaboration and co-creation with clients and external stakeholders has been invaluable”.

Speaking further, Adesina revealed the goals and visions driving IOM. In her word, “We are Ideas Origin Media, a dynamic and innovative advertising agency that specializes in digital marketing, creative services, brand building and business strategy development. Over the years, we have continually delivered tailor-made marketing solutions to brands and businesses seeking unique strategies and communication plans to break through the industry clutter.

“As ‘The Originals,’ we pride ourselves on our team of experts, each bringing years of experience and expertise to their respective departments. Our departments include Creative, Human Resources, Strategy, Brand Management, Digital, Media, and Finance, working seamlessly together to deliver exceptional results. We are driven by a passion for creativity, innovation, versatility and excellence in everything we do. We operate with an integrated operations approach aimed at making a difference for our clients, ourselves and the business.”

Speaking on the relationship between clients and agencies and how both parties improve goodwill in the industry, she said, “ I would describe the relationship between clients and agencies as that of a husband and wife. The seamless collaboration and partnership of both partners determine how successful and progressive the home will be.

“At the core of this relationship is the principle that a happy client contributes to the overall satisfaction and success of the agency. While challenges may arise either from the client or the agency, what’s important is to improve processes that facilitate resolutions continuously. Open communication and constructive feedback play pivotal roles in enhancing cordiality and strengthening the partnership”.

She highlighted various ways agencies can leverage digital platforms to remain relevant in a fast-evolving business climate. She said, “Understanding the constant need state of consumers for enhanced personalized experiences is paramount in today’s digital age. It’s not just about solving problems anymore; it’s about crafting solutions that resonate with individuals on a personal level. This means developing tailored strategies that are specifically designed for different digital platforms and communicated in ways that speak to each platform’s unique audience. After all, one size doesn’t fit all in the digital world.
