The Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN) is set to host its highly anticipated annual conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the prestigious Lakowe Golf Resort in Lagos, commencing today and running through Saturday, June 1st, 2024.

This three-day event will commence this evening with a fireside chat featuring distinguished speaker and industry veteran, Dr. George Thorpe, Managing Consultant at Marketing Space Nigeria. The engaging discussion, to be moderated by Dr. Ken Onyeali, Chairman/CEO of Graviti Hill Ltd, will revolve around the topic, “Agency Capitalization as a Consideration for Sustainability and Growth.”

The conference will gain momentum the following day with a keynote address by Chizor Malize, CEO of the Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) Nigeria. Malize will delve into the critical subject of “Strategic Financial Navigation for Agency Stability and Profitability,” providing invaluable insights and strategies for media agencies to navigate the complexities of financial management and ensure long-term success.

Following the keynote, a panel session discussion on the same topic will take place, featuring Dr. Ken Onyeali, Stanislaus Martins, President of the Association of Digital Marketing Professionals (ADMARP), and Segun Ogunleye, General Manager of SevenUp Bottling Company (SBC). The session is expected to bring diverse perspectives and engaging thought-provoking discussions on understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the industry, among sundry issues.

Dr. Femi Adelusi, President of MIPAN, expressed his enthusiasm for the event and the association’s readiness to welcome industry stakeholders, including guest speakers, panelists, patrons, special guests, regulators, sectoral leads, heads of agencies, marketing communications professionals, and colleagues from across the industry.

Adelusi emphasized that this year’s conference aims to foster collaboration with industry leaders, influence better thinking, and drive greater impact in the media industry and the national economy as a whole. “Join us as we reflect on the accomplishments of the outgoing EXCO, discuss our future plans, engage with thought leaders in the industry, and elect new leadership,” he remarked.

A highlight of the AGM will be the election of new leadership for MIPAN, as Dr. Adelusi’s impactful tenure as President officially comes to an end.
