Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has made history again. She has earned her third Guinness World Record for preparing the world’s largest serving of rice, adding to her growing list of achievements.

The record was officially confirmed by Guinness World Records. It was set on September 12, 2025, in Victoria Island, Lagos, where Baci and her team prepared 8,780 kilograms of rice. The attempt was first meant to set the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, but Guinness later confirmed it also counted as the largest rice serving overall.

Baci shared the news on January 20, 2026, saying she was surprised and excited. “Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What I thought was one record turned out to be two. Now, officially, that makes three Guinness World Records in total,” she said.

Guinness World Records praised her achievement in an email, saying it was “Officially Amazing again” and explaining that her jollof rice record also counted as the biggest rice serving ever.

This new record adds to Baci’s other achievements. In May 2023, she set a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, cooking for 93 hours and 11 minutes. In September 2025, she set her second record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

With three Guinness World Records, Hilda Baci continues to showcase Nigerian cuisine to the world, proving that passion and hard work can make history, one dish at a time.
