Funmi Osineye Assumes New Role As Category Manager, Culinary (Maggi) At Nestle Nigeria

Seasoned marketing professional, Funmi Osineye has been elevated to the position of Category Manager for Culinary (MAGGI) at Nestle Nigeria, one of the largest food and beverage companies in Africa.

In her new role, Funmi will be responsible for building on MAGGI’s legacy of nourishing lives through every seasoning cube and driving innovative impact in the culinary space.

Prior to her elevation, Funmi was Head & Marketing Manager of Nestle Professional, an out-of-home business arm of Nestlé Nigeria where she was responsible for Nestle Professional business strategy, new product development, growth and profitability of the OUT of Home business of Nestle Nigeria.

Announcing her new role, she said “ Some years ago, I walked into Nestlé with big dreams and a passion to make a difference. From building iconic brands, unlocking growth opportunities to empowering teams and young professionals across the markets, every step has been a story of learning, resilience, and impact.

“It’s been an incredible journey leading the Nestlé Nigeria’s Out-of-Home business during the last 3 years, and I’m deeply grateful for the support, collaboration, and opportunities that have shaped my growth.” She concluded.

With over 20 years of experience leading high-impact marketing strategies in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, Funmi has proven ability to drive brand growth, increase market share, foster partnerships and enhance customer engagement through innovative campaigns, market research, and data-driven decision-making in competitive environments.

Funmi joined Nestle Nigeria in 2003 as Key Account Manager, where she was charged with the responsibility of developing Annual Joint Business Plans (Profitability, Promotions, Merchandising, Sales/Forecasting) and trading term negotiation with key focus on ROI for all International Retail Stores/Supermarkets in Nigeria.

She then rose to the position of Channel Development and Project Manager where she is fully responsible for execution of the Annual Integrated Commercial Plan with key focus on flawless delivery across the path to purchase, merchandising excellence in all relevant channels. She also served as Brand Manager MILO at the same company and was responsible for Annual Strategy Development and flawless execution of the Integrated Commercial Plan with focus on improving brand equity.

Funmi also engaged a cross-functional team in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone to profitably manage business growth, developed consumer & communication engagement strategies, above the line-ATL & below the line-BTL activities while she was serving as the Category and Marketing Manager of Nestle Ghana.

She started her career as Senior Sales Representatives at Tritech Computers Ltd where she was responsible for driving the delivery of company sales targets for assigned area of responsibility.

Funmi is a BSc. graduate of Ogun State University where she studied Computer Science, she also holds an MBA in Marketing Management from Lagos State University.
