Twitter Deal Temporarily On Hold – Elon Musk

Tesla boss Elon Musk has said his $44 billion deal for micro-blogging and social media platform, Twitter, is provisionally on hold.
He made the announcement in a tweet this Friday.
While making the announcement, Musk cited pending details on spam and fake accounts as reasons for the hold.
“Twitter deal temporarily on hold pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users,” he tweeted.
When the deal was announced in late April he said he wanted to make Twitter “better than ever” by “defeating the spam bots and authenticating all humans”.
On Wednesday, Musk said he would be open to lifting a ban on former president Donald Trump imposed after the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
The company had in its Q1 2022 financial report admitted to overstating the figure of the platform’s users by 1.9 million in the last three years.
