Samsung Teases With Galaxy S24 Series, AI Powered Features, To Launch Jan. 17

Billed to be one of the biggest tech events of the first quarter, Samsung is gearing up for its first Unpacked event of the year with the introduction of its eagerly awaited Galaxy S24 series billed for the 17th of January, this year.
Billed for San Jose in the United Staes, the Unpacked event will see the unveiling of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, showing Samsung’s latest premium Galaxy innovations, designed to enhance the way users live, connect, and create.
The event will be live-streamed on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and Samsung’s YouTube channel, commencing at 10 a.m. PST, 1 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. GMT, and 7 p.m. CET.
While teasers and trailers are expected in the lead-up to the event, recent leaks suggest that the Galaxy S24 series will be equipped with AI-powered features under the upcoming One UI 6.1. Reports include additions, including Browsing Assist AI enhancements. These features encompass the ability to highlight key elements on webpages, language translation, and the creation of summarised versions of articles, promising improved productivity for users navigating daily tasks.
Notably, the One UI 6.1’s Gallery app is rumored to introduce video compression capabilities. Additionally, users may have the flexibility to select portions of videos and seamlessly create slow-motion versions without the need for external applications. Beyond the aforementioned features, the Galaxy S24 series is expected to debut further AI-driven functionalities. Samsung Notes may introduce note summarisation, real-time language translation during calls could become a reality, and a wallpaper generator along with AI-generated effects for lock screen wallpapers are anticipated.
