Temitope Oguntokun Appointed Executive Director At International Breweries
Veteran marketing, communications and sustainability Amazon, Mrs. Temitope Oguntokun has climbed a higher rung of the corporate ladder with her appointment as an Executive Director at the International Breweries Plc (IBPlc).
This followed a recent announcement on this development by the Board of International Breweries, contained in the company’s notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investment community, signed by Dr. (Mrs.) Marian Reginald-Ukwuoma, Company Secretary / Legal Counsel.
Oguntokun who is the Corporate Affairs and Regulatory Director of IBPlc, is a business leader with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. Her professional journey is marked by multifaceted expertise in various disciplines, including Corporate Affairs, Journalism, Sustainability, Reputation Management, Government Relations / Policy Advocacy, Strategic Communications, Marketing Communications, and Change Management.
She joined the services of the company as Country Lead, Sustainability and Stakeholder Management after more than a decade of service at Lafarge Africa Plc (A member of the LafargeHolcim Group).
Over the years, she had built a track record of excellence in her career which led to awards and recognitions including being among Top 50 Women in Marketing Communications at WIMCA, awarded the most outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Practitioner of the Year (First runner up) at The SERAS CSR Awards-Africa in recognition of her outstanding sustainable development interventions and solutions at Lafarge Africa Plc., in 2017, among others.
She commenced her career as a journalist (Staff Writer) at Independent Communications Network Limited (Publishers of The NEWS Magazine) before joining Corporate and Financial Communications Ltd ( now C&F Porter Novelli), a public relations firm as Deputy Manager, Business Development and later moved to The Quadrant Company, also a public relations firm, as Senior Analyst.
Her career trajectory further shows that she joined Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria Plc as Head of Communications in 2008 where she steadily climbed the ladder to the position of Corporate Brand and Sustainability Manager before she became the Head, Sustainability and Brand for the company.
While there, she led the development and execution of a broad-based and country-wide strategic sustainability initiatives for the company, benchmarking with the LH Group Sustainable Development Ambitions (The 2030 Plan) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).
She also managed the corporate brand and image building strategies of Lafarge Africa and implement the Group brand positioning locally, building a positive reputation and perception for the company before its internal and external stakeholders.
Her academic background includes: The Polytechnic Ibadan where she had her Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication; Lagos State University, Post Graduate Diploma: Communications Studies; University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership; Master of Arts (M.A.), Communications, Media and Public Relations from University of Leicester.
She is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a Fellow and Executive Council Member of the Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria (SPIN), and a Member of the International Associations of Business Communicators (IABC).
