Nigcomsat Set To Elevate Broadcast Signals For BON Members

Nigcomsat Limited has announced a partnership deal with the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) to improve the quality and accessibility of broadcast signal for BON members throughout Nigeria through its Nigcomsat satellite network.

This partnership, in line with the mandate from the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy under the supervision of Minister Dr. Bosun Tijani, will see Nigcomsat utilizing its advanced satellite technology to provide support to BON and its member organizations.

BON, through this collaboration, will have access to Nigcomsat’s reliable and high-performance uplink services, ensuring consistent broadcast signal quality for viewers nationwide.

Commenting on the partnership, Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director and CEO of Nigcomsat, highlighted the commitment to driving digital transformation and enhancing connectivity across Nigeria. She expressed optimism about the opportunity to elevate the country’s broadcasting landscape by collaborating with the influential Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria and bringing the benefits of satellite technology to millions of Nigerians who rely on these crucial services.

The collaboration is set to commence immediately, with Nigcomsat’s technical team working closely with BON to integrate their systems and ensure a smooth transition.

In her remarks, Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose, Executive Secretary of BON, expressed gratitude to Nigcomsat Ltd and Egerton-Idehen for their support and special consideration for BON members. The agreement includes the allocation of two transponders at discounted rates and a commitment to support the broadcasting industry.

Dr. Bamgbose also confirmed that BON members had been promptly informed of this development and are expected to benefit from this collaboration, which is poised to add significant value to the country’s broadcasting industry.
