Hattrick For Brand Communicator As Joshua Ajayi Makes Nigeria’s Top 50 PR Power List For 2025

For the third consecutive time, Joshua Ajayi, Chief Executive of Awesome Communications and Publisher of Nigeria’s leading multi-award-winning brand, marketing and sustainability Publication-Brand Communicator, has made it to the top 50 PR Power List for this year.
The Top 50 PR Power List recognition is part of the lineup of events, platforms and programmes to mark the 2025 World PR Day by one of Nigeria’s leading Public Relations firms, GLG Communications, in collaboration with the Guardian Newspaper.
The PR Power List, launched in 2022 and published exclusively by The Guardian, recognises outstanding PR and communications professionals in Nigeria and the diaspora who have made notable contributions to the industry over the past year.
The list features a carefully curated selection of returning honorees from the previous year, as well as exceptional new entrants. This prestigious recognition beams the light on the remarkable contributions of these PR professionals who often work tirelessly behind the scenes, crafting communication strategies that make magic happen both across sectors and industries.
According to GLG Communications, the selection of this year’s top 50 honorees is an intentional move designed to protect the authenticity and impartiality of the selection process for the 2025 PR event.
While emphasising the importance of ensuring the list remains free from external pressure, Omawumi Ogbe, Managing Partner at GLG Communications and Creator of the PR Power List, said, “Our primary goal with the PR Power List has always been to celebrate genuine excellence and impact within the public relations and communications industry.”
He said that unveiling the jurors after the selection process is complete is a way of empowering them to work without external pressures, ensuring the highest level of integrity and authenticity for the list.
Ogbe said,” Unveiling the jurors after the selection process is complete is a way of empowering them to work without external pressures, ensuring the highest level of integrity and authenticity for the list. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and the invaluable work they’ve put in to make this year’s list truly representative of the best in our field.”
Joshua Ajayi’s inclusion in the PR Power List comes as no surprise, given his exceptional track record and commitment to excellence. In 2021, he was honoured with the prestigious PR Journalist of the Year by LaPRIGA, a renowned award platform that recognises excellence in public relations practice in Nigeria. Ajayi also received the Most Consistent Niche Media Personality award at the Freelanews Awards the same year.
Moreover, Ajayi is widely known for his role as the convener and visionary of various influential conferences and awards ceremonies within the marketing communications industry. These include the Women in Marketing Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA), the largest gathering of female marketing communications professionals in West Africa; BRANDCOMFEST, the leading event for professionals and stakeholders in the marketing communications industry in West Africa; and BRANDCOM Awards, a prestigious platform that celebrates and recognises excellence in the marketing communications and allied industry. Additionally, Ajayi initiated the Environmental Sustainability Conference, Expo, and Awards (ECOSEA).
Under his leadership, Brand Communicator has achieved remarkable success. The publication was honoured as the Best Company in CSR Reporting for 2020 at the Sustainability, Enterprise, and Responsibility Awards (SERAS). This accolade was the result of a rigorous and competitive process that included prominent media outlets such as Channels Television and Arise Television in the same category.
Furthermore, Brand Communicator was nominated for the Best Small and Medium Company of the Year category at the 10th edition of the SERAS in 2016, and in 2018, it secured the position of second runner-up as the Best Company in Sustainability Reporting.
Brand Communicator has consistently garnered recognition for its exceptional reportage of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) industry stories. The publication received the prestigious LaPRIGA PR Magazine of the Year Award (Print) from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State chapter, for four consecutive years, from 2017 to 2020.
Additionally, Brand Communicator has established partnerships with internationally acclaimed creative showcases, including the Loeries in South Africa and the Cristal Awards in Morocco.
